Bio


Siamak Ravanbakhsh is an Associate Professor at the School of Computer Science at McGill University, a Canada CIFAR AI Chair, and a Core Member at Mila. His research is at the intersection of generative AI, reasoning and decision making with pior focus on the role of geometry and symmetry in represenation learning. Before joining McGill and Mila, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia. He spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Machine Learning Department and the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, working with Barnabás Póczos and Jeff Schneider. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Alberta as a member of Amii, working with Russ Greiner. He holds a B.Sc. from Sharif University of Technology.
